The image of Our Lady of the Assumption, patroness of Estepa, has paraded this afternoon through the streets of the town in procession, departing at 20:30 from the church that bears her name. The procession brought together numerous locals who accompanied their patroness throughout the route.
The procession, held in celebration of the Assumption feast, was led by the parish vicar, Andrés Rodríguez Sánchez; the elder brother of the Brotherhood of the Assumption, Joaquín Amador; the mayor of Estepa, Antonio Jesús Muñoz Quirós; the representative of the Casa Palacio del Marquesado de Cerverales, Natalia Alcaraz Velázquez-Duro; and the president of the General Council of Brotherhoods and Cofradías of Estepa, Antonio Vicente Bustos Cabello.
The Estepa Music Band provided musical accompaniment as the patroness made her way through the streets of Estepa, on a day particularly significant for the city.
The procession continued its route throughout the night, concluding an event that each year gathers thousands of faithful around the devotion to the Assumption.
The feast of the Assumption, declared the main day in the local calendar, saw high participation, with numerous locals and visitors joining the procession.
