Seville City Council will begin resurfacing Ronda del Tamarguillo between Hytasa and San Juan de la Cruz this Sunday. The works, with an investment of €350,000, will be carried out at night to minimise disruption.
Seville City Council will start the resurfacing works on Ronda del Tamarguillo on Sunday, August 16, in the section between Avenida de Hytasa and Avenida de San Juan de la Cruz. The works will be executed during nighttime hours, between 10:00 PM and 6:30 AM, to reduce the impact on traffic and local residents.
The Urban Planning delegate, Juan de la Rosa, explained that this action will “significantly improve the conservation and safety conditions of this section,” a key artery for the city’s mobility. The investment amounts to €350,000 and includes the laying of two layers of high-quality asphalt.
The works will be carried out in a staggered manner, over several non-consecutive days, and during each of these days, traffic cuts and circulation restrictions will be signposted. The City Council asks for “understanding and cooperation from drivers” and assures that the phased programming aims to minimise disruptions.
Schedule of Road Closures
In the Glorieta de Hytasa, the works are scheduled for the nights of August 16 to 17, 17 to 18, and 24 to 25. In the Hytasa–San Juan de la Cruz direction, closures will occur on the nights of August 18 to 19 and 20 to 21. In the opposite direction, San Juan de la Cruz–Hytasa, closures will take place on the nights of August 19 to 20 and 23 to 24.
With these works, the City Council will complete the comprehensive renewal of the pavement of Ronda del Tamarguillo, which totals an investment of €2.2 million over its 2.5 kilometres. De la Rosa pointed out that the road “had been suffering from potholes and deterioration for years” and that with the tender for Calle Clemente Hidalgo, the renewal will be completed 100%.
The project includes the installation of an intermediate layer with improved components to absorb thermal movements of the concrete slabs, and a porous wearing course that will reduce tyre noise. Architectural barriers will also be removed by raising the level of the roadway.
These works are part of a package of 28 improvement actions for roads and public spaces that the Urban Planning Management is executing this summer, with a total budget of €2.2 million. Drivers are advised to plan alternative routes and respect signage during the nights of closure.
