Seville Local Police has confiscated over 400 counterfeit sports clothing items in the Alcosa area. The market value of the items is around 10,000 euros, and a vehicle used for their sale has also been seized.
The Seville Local Police has intervened more than 400 counterfeit items in the Alcosa area, according to the municipal body. The market value of the seized items approaches 10,000 euros.
The operation was carried out by the Mobile Action Unit and resulted in the seizure of 12 bundles of sports clothing, as well as a vehicle that was used to transport the items and has been deemed an instrument of the crime.
Among the seized products, football shirts predominate, although items and footwear from various brands have also been confiscated. The operation is part of the fight against illegal street vending.
According to municipal sources, this operation responds to the demands of local residents and merchants, who have been calling for more control over irregular sales. Additionally, the intervention aims to curb the economic harm these practices cause to both the companies owning the brands and the establishments that sell original products.
The Local Police has highlighted that this type of operation adds to those carried out by the Fiscal Group to dismantle networks of distribution and storage of counterfeits. The sale of these items is usually concentrated in public spaces and markets in the city.
The confiscated items are at the disposal of the judiciary. Authorities remind that purchasing counterfeit products contributes to maintaining these networks and affects local commerce.
