The Bellavista Sports Centre will be the venue on October 17 for the II Pepe Gambita Charity Tournament, organised by the veterans of CAR and benefiting Corazón y Vida. The Sports Delegate, María Tena, has supported the initiative.
The second edition of the Pepe Gambita Charity Tournament now has a date: October 17 at the Bellavista Sports Centre. This was confirmed on Friday by the Association of Veterans of the Rugby Friends Club (CAR VETS), the event's organiser, which presented the poster at the Paseo Marqués del Contadero.
The event, which last year brought together nearly 200 players and 1,000 attendees, returns with the same purpose: to pay tribute to Pepe Gastalver, known as el Gambita, a former player of CAR diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and to raise funds for a social cause.
This time, all proceeds will go entirely to the Corazón y Vida Association, a non-profit entity that provides support and comprehensive care to individuals affected by congenital heart diseases.
The presentation was attended by the Sports Delegate of the Seville City Council, María Tena, who wanted to convey the municipal support to the organisers.
"The City Council congratulates the initiative for promoting an event that not only pays a well-deserved tribute to such a beloved figure as Pepe Gastalver but also demonstrates once again the solidarity of Seville's sports community and how it engages with social causes"
Tena also encouraged citizens to participate: "I urge all Sevillians and sports lovers to join this initiative, which in this edition will benefit the Corazón y Vida Association, by participating and collaborating in a day that combines values, coexistence, and solidarity."
The tournament, which will take place at the Bellavista facilities, aims to surpass last year's figures and establish itself as a sporting and charitable event in the city. Those interested in participating or collaborating can obtain more information through the organisation.
