The Utrera City Council has started the works to replace the artificial grass on the two football pitches at Parque V Centenario, which were closed due to the poor condition of the ground.
The Sports delegation of the Utrera City Council has initiated the comprehensive renewal of the artificial grass on the two football pitches at Parque V Centenario, facilities that had remained closed due to the advanced deterioration of the surface. The company REALTURF SYSTEMS, S.L. is carrying out the work for an amount of €37,750 and with a completion period of eight weeks.
The condition of the grass had forced the sports facility to be closed to the public, as it showed wear that compromised safety and the quality of play. With this intervention, the council aims to restore the use of these pitches to the local residents.
The ongoing works include the dismantling of the existing goals, which will be reused once the project is completed. There will also be a complete removal of the artificial grass and the current infill material, followed by the installation of new artificial grass.
The Councillor for Sports and Youth, Israel Bascón, explained that “with this work we are responding to a facility that needed significant renewal to be able to be used again with all guarantees.” The councillor insisted that the goal is “to make them available to the residents once more.”
Bascón emphasized that improving sports facilities is a priority for the government team, as it is not only about renewing the grass, but also about providing safe and well-maintained public spaces that encourage sports practice. In this regard, he recalled that this action is part of a broader plan for the conservation and improvement of municipal equipment.
Once the works are completed, the two football pitches at Parque V Centenario will be reopened to the public, with completely renovated facilities in optimal safety and usability conditions for sports practice.
