The Municipal Theatre Calixto Sánchez has today hosted a flamenco dance masterclass taught by the dancer Alejandro Rodríguez, with the participation of 25 enthusiasts of various ages.

The Municipal Theatre Calixto Sánchez in Mairena del Alcor has today been the stage for a flamenco dance masterclass led by the dancer Alejandro Rodríguez. The activity brought together 25 participants of different ages, who shared music, dance, and tradition in an atmosphere of coexistence and celebration of flamenco culture.

The event is part of the Festival promoted by the City Council of Mairena del Alcor to promote culture, performing arts, and flamenco heritage, bringing these expressions closer to the public. The initiative aims to strengthen training and knowledge of the compás among local enthusiasts.

Alejandro Rodríguez García, born in Córdoba in 1983, is a dancer certified by the Professional Dance Conservatory of Córdoba «Luis del Río». Trained since the age of four, he has perfected his technique with masters such as Manolo Marín, Javier Latorre, and Eva Yerbabuena.

Throughout his career, he has been part of companies such as those of Sara Baras, Eva Yerbabuena, Paco Peña, Rafaela Carrasco, and Rubén Olmo, participating in major international productions. As a soloist, he has performed in tablaos in Seville, Córdoba, and Almería, and in 2012 he premiered his own show in tribute to Ana Carrillo «La Tomata».

His teaching role has led him to give masterclasses in Europe, America, and Asia. Among his recognitions are the First Prize for dance by Alegrías «La Perla de Cádiz» (2001), an award at the Young Flamencos Contest of Córdoba (2004), and another at the Calahorra Competition (2009).

Today's masterclass enhances the cultural offering of Mairena del Alcor and allows attendees to learn from a professional with an international career. The festival continues its programming with new activities in the coming days.
