The Local Security Board of Mairena del Alcor has activated the self-protection, coordination and emergency plan for Romería 2026, which will be held on Sunday, September 27, at Pinar Espeso.

The mayor of Mairena del Alcor, Juanma López Domínguez, presided over the meeting of the Local Security Board on Friday in the commission room of the Town Hall. During the meeting, the self-protection, coordination and emergency plan for Romería 2026 in honour of Our Lady of the Remedies Coronated, the patron saint of the municipality, was finalised.

The event will take place on Sunday, September 27 at Pinar Espeso. Coordination between the various bodies will establish measures for public safety, health assistance, prevention, emergencies, and traffic regulation for pilgrims, residents, and visitors.

Participating in the meeting were the councillors for Culture, Festivities, Public Safety, Health, Communication, and Services: Inmaculada Galocha, Miriam Domínguez, Alejandro Cruz, Belén Gutiérrez, and José Romero. Also present were members of the Mairena del Alcor Fire Brigade, the chief of the Local Police and two officers, the lieutenant commander of the Main Post of the Civil Guard of Los Alcores, and the chief commander of the Civil Guard Company of Carmona.

Representatives from the National Police Unit Attached to the Junta de Andalucía and Civil Protection also joined the meeting, along with the elder brother of Our Lady of the Remedies, Manuel Crespo, and Gema Cano, director of the Clinical Management Unit of Los Alcores.

The Town Hall is working alongside the Security Forces and emergency and health services on a plan that allows the Romería to be celebrated with guarantees of safety and peace. The event is one of the most prominent in the festive and religious calendar of the locality.

The device will be deployed in the vicinity of Pinar Espeso on the day of the pilgrimage, with coordinated services to address any incidents throughout the day.
