The Ministry of Development responds to the mayor's request and announces pavement improvement works on the stretch between Lebrija and Las Cabezas de San Juan.
The Ministry of Development and Mobility of the Junta de Andalucía has confirmed that it will repair the surface of the A-471 road on the stretch that connects Lebrija with Las Cabezas de San Juan. This action responds to the request made by the mayor of Lebrija to the regional department due to the poor condition of the pavement.
According to the Lebrija Town Hall, the Territorial Delegation of Seville has sent a letter indicating that the improvements have been included in the recent maintenance contract formalised by the Ministry. The works will be carried out at the points on the road that show the most deterioration.
The Lebrija mayor had requested an urgent intervention due to the risk that the state of the road poses to road safety. In his letter, the Town Hall also emphasised the high daily traffic volume that this road supports, as well as the increase in traffic during the summer.
The A-471 is one of the main connecting roads of the region with the coastal towns of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Chipiona and Rota, so its repair will benefit both the residents of Lebrija and the drivers who use it throughout the year.
The start dates for the works and the execution timelines have not yet been specified, but the Town Hall is hopeful that the works will begin soon and recalls that the improvement of the road surface has been a long-standing demand of the area.
