The Town Hall of Tomares launches 'Tomares Capacita 2026', an annual programme with free courses for registered residents. A total of 80 places are offered in five training actions, fully funded by the Town Hall.
The Local Development Agency (ADL) of the Town Hall of Tomares has opened the registration period for the new edition of the annual training programme 'Tomares Capacita 2026'. The initiative, fully funded by the Town Hall, reserves 80 places for residents of the municipality, including unemployed individuals, active workers, entrepreneurs, or neighbours looking to enhance their employability.
The offer includes five free courses that combine technical specialties and digital skills. In total, 173 hours of training will be provided across modules of varying lengths: 'Administrative Assistant – Invoicing' (60 hours), 'Front Forklift' (8 hours), 'Occupational Risk Prevention, Construction Agreement Speciality Bricklaying' (20 hours), 'Advanced Level Spreadsheet Applications + Automation with AI' (80 hours) and 'Certified Food Handler' (5 hours).
Two of the training actions are already underway. Since 14 September, 15 residents have been attending the advanced spreadsheet programme, which will run until 5 October, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 14:00 hours, at the FPE Centre 'Tomás Ybarra' (Calle Tomás Ybarra, number 2, first floor). The content covers intermediate and advanced functions of LibreOffice Calc as well as the use of conversational AI like ChatGPT to generate and audit formulas, design dashboards, and automate management tasks.
The food handler course will take place on Tuesday 29 September, from 16:30 to 21:30 hours, at the Tomás de Ybarra Cultural Centre (Calle Concepción Ibarra, number 1). Of the 60 applications received, 20 residents have been selected. The registration period for this action is now closed. Participants will receive an official certificate valid throughout Spain and accredited according to Royal Decree 109/2010 and Regulation (EC) 852/2004, which is mandatory within the European Union for the hospitality and food sector.
Municipal sources explain that the selection of courses responds to an analysis of previous training actions and a study of labour market trends. The aim is for residents to acquire skills demanded by local companies and improve their chances of finding a job or advancing in their current position.
Those interested in courses that still have available places can contact the Local Development Agency of the Town Hall of Tomares to check the requirements and formalise their registration. The training is free and exclusively reserved for registered residents of the municipality.
