Six buses with around 400 residents from Tomares set off this Thursday towards Punta Umbría in the penultimate edition of the municipal programme 'Thursdays at the Beach'.
The Town Hall of Tomares has once again brought the beach closer to its residents. This Thursday, August 13, six buses departed at 9:00 AM from José Monge Cruz 'Camarón de la Isla' street, next to the Flamenco Cultural Peña, heading to Punta Umbría beach. Nearly 400 people, including families, groups of young people, and seniors, are already enjoying swimming and relaxing on this summer day.
The departure was attended by the special delegate for Citizen Participation, Carmen de la Cuesta, and the Sports delegate, Antonio Parrilla, who accompanied the residents before embarking on the journey. The programme, organised by the Social Welfare department, has become one of the summer classics in Tomares, receiving excellent feedback from residents.
The service has no limit on places: the Town Hall provides as many buses as necessary every Thursday, depending on the tickets purchased from Monday to Wednesday. The initiative aims to ensure that no resident misses out on a comfortable day at the beach at an affordable price.
Tickets can be purchased from Monday to Wednesday, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, at the municipal building of Casas de Hermandad, located at Tomás Ybarra street, 14. The general price is 5 euros, with discounts for young people up to 35 years and job seekers from the SAE (3.50 euros) and for retirees, pensioners, large families, seniors over 60, and people with disabilities (2.50 euros).
To access the reduced prices, it is necessary to provide proof of eligibility with the corresponding documentation: ID card, SAE job demand card, disability grade card, retirement document, or large family title. Additionally, it is mandatory to present the ID both when purchasing the ticket and when boarding the bus.
The departures occur every Thursday in July and August at 9:00 AM from the same point, with a return at 7:30 PM. There are two more days left to enjoy this initiative, which will remain available to all registered residents of Tomares until the end of summer.
