The Olivares Town Council has made available to residents the new edition of its municipal magazine, which reviews the summer news of 2026 and includes an interview with Ropero Solidario.
The publication for July and August 2026 is now available for consultation and covers the main events, performances, and activities that have taken place in the municipality during these two months.
One of the most significant sections is the cultural one. The magazine details the summer leisure programme, which features initiatives such as Concilia-Ocio Olivares 2026, the XI National Music Bands Contest “Villa de Olivares”, the Spanish song contest “Olivo de Plata”, and the activities of Diversia and the II Children’s Colonies. It also reviews the celebration of the Patron Saint Festivities of Las Nieves 2026, one of the most notable events on the local calendar.
In the services chapter, the edition reports on several improvements in public spaces. Among them are the expansion of shaded areas in Parque 8 de Marzo and the renovation of the Rafael Rodríguez Herrera and Los Tambores parks. This is complemented by the renewal of the lighting at the Municipal Football Stadium “Las Colonias”, the refurbishment of municipal educational centres, and the extension of the parking service next to the Municipal Pavilion to 24 hours.
The magazine also dedicates a section to the investment projects being prepared by the Town Council, including the drafting of repaving, adaptation, and urban redevelopment works in various streets and public spaces in the municipality.
Another topic addressed is the work carried out during the summer to strengthen prevention against the West Nile Virus, involving surveillance, cleaning, specific treatments, and awareness campaigns aimed at the public.
Sports news also has its space, with information about a day of sports and healthy leisure in which more than 100 young people participated, an activity designed to promote sports, coexistence, and healthy lifestyle habits.
As a highlighted feature, the publication includes an interview with Inmaculada Cortés, president of the Ropero Solidario de Olivares. In it, she explains the origin of the initiative, the work carried out by volunteers, and the importance of ensuring that clothing donations arrive in suitable conditions for distribution to those in need. The interview also reviews this group's collaboration with Social Services and other aid initiatives.
The edition concludes with a section dedicated to upcoming events planned in the municipality for the following months and other content of interest for residents.
