The La Rinconada Council held a working meeting with the AMPAS of the municipality to coordinate the start of the school year. The municipal grants will be published earlier than usual to facilitate the planning of the associations.
The delegate for Early Childhood and Primary Education, Rafael Reyes, met with the AMPAS of La Rinconada to review the actions for the upcoming academic year and gather the concerns of families. The meeting also included the delegate for Citizen Participation, Trinidad Romera.
One of the most notable announcements was the advance of the municipal grant call for AMPAS. As the councillor explained, the aim is for the boards to have budget certainty from the start of the school year so they can organise their activities without delays.
“AMPAS are an essential pillar for complementing our students' education and building an active educational community. Bringing forward the grant call responds to our desire to provide the boards with budget certainty so they can organise their initiatives,” emphasised Rafael Reyes.
The La Rinconada Council allocated over €40,800 last year to support educational projects of the AMPAS, which represents a 16.5% increase compared to the previous year. These grants allow associations to develop complementary activities and support management teams and faculties in their projects.
“These grants will allow these entities to continue functioning and developing the multiple actions and activities they carry out for the benefit of students and supporting directors and faculties in educational projects,” added the delegate.
The meeting also served to coordinate joint actions for the start of the school year and for the AMPAS to convey their needs before the school calendar begins. With the advance of the grant call, associations will be able to apply for funding and plan their programmes from September.
