The Archbishop of Seville has appointed 30 priests to new positions in parishes, curia, seminaries, and chaplaincies. Most will take possession in the first half of September.
The Archdiocese of Seville has made public the appointments and transfers that will govern the upcoming pastoral year, affecting a total of 30 priests. Most of those appointed will take canonical possession of their new offices during the first half of September, according to the Archdiocese.
José Miguel Verdugo Rasco has been appointed Episcopal Vicar for the Seville City II area, while Antonio Jesús Rodríguez Báez takes on the Diocesan Delegation for the Clergy and also the Vice-Rectorate of the Metropolitan Seminary. In the parish sphere, notable changes are highlighted in the Vicarage of Seville City II, where Federico Jiménez de Cisneros Ortiz will be the parish priest of Nuestra Señora de la O, Félix Alberto Mediavilla Ramos of San Leandro, and José Manuel Ruiz Ruiz the parish vicar of Santa Ana.
In the North Vicarage, Jorge Dorado Picón will take charge of the parish of San José in San José de la Rinconada, David Marín Gómez of the Purísima Concepción in Villaverde del Río, and Victoriano Manuel Martín López will be the parish administrator of Santa María de la Encarnación in Constantina. The South Vicarage concentrates several movements: Rubén Blasco Bejarano will go to the Purísima Concepción of Gilena, Antonio Ceballos Capote to San José de Montellano, Juan Guzmán Ivanovich to Nuestra Señora de la Victoria and Espíritu Santo in Morón de la Frontera, and Ely Yecid Lesmes Cruz will take on several parishes in Cañada del Rosal, La Luisiana, and El Campillo. Additionally, emeritus parish priests have been appointed for Cañada del Rosal and La Luisiana.
In the East Vicarage, Nelson Rogelio Borges Figueredo will be the parish priest of San Pedro in Carmona, Germán Carrasco Sereno of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Los Palacios and Villafranca, and parish vicars are appointed for Trajano-Trobal-Pinzón, Utrera, Los Palacios, and Dos Hermanas. The West Vicarage also records changes: Antonio Bueno Ávila will take charge of San Juan Bautista and the Sacred Hearts in San Juan de Aznalfarache, Óscar Díaz Malaver of Nuestra Señora de Lourdes and San Juan de Dios in Bormujos, and other priests will occupy parishes in Villanueva del Ariscal, Benacazón, Aznalcázar, and La Puebla del Río, with vicars for Mairena del Aljarafe.
In the seminaries, in addition to the vice-rectorate of Rodríguez Báez, Manuel Jiménez Carreira will be the spiritual director of the Metropolitan Seminary. The chaplaincies for contemplative nuns are assigned to Joaquim Sita Balenda (Sanlúcar la Mayor), Félix Alberto Mediavilla Ramos (Seville), and José Manuel Ruiz Ruiz (Seville). For hospitals, Erick Mauricio Díaz Fernández will be the chaplain of Virgen Macarena and Cristian Rodríguez Domínguez of Tomillar. Finally, José Antonio Morón Pardo has been authorised for further studies.
These appointments represent a significant renewal in the pastoral structure of the Archdiocese, which encompasses the city of Seville and much of the province. The staggered taking of possession in September will allow for an orderly transition between outgoing and incoming priests.
