The fourth edition of the Provincial Meeting of Urban Sketchers now has a date and location. Lebrija will host the event on October 17, with the surroundings of the Castle as the main setting, as announced by the organisers.
The day will kick off at 10:00 AM around the Flamenco Centre. From there, participants will move to the Castle area, where they will have free time between 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM to draw the surroundings of the monumental complex.
This year's poster was presented at the Tourist Office in the presence of the Culture Delegate, Pepe Martínez; the president of GastroArte Sin Fronteras, Fabián Óscar Cáceres Duarte; the poster's author, José María Cabello Sánchez; and the urban sketcher Manolo Martín, creator of the work that inspires the image.
Registration is free and will remain open until October 14. Interested individuals can formalise their registration by writing to guadalarte26@gmail.com. The organisation has set a limit of 35 first registrants, who will receive a snack and a gift during the event.
This year's image features the hermitage of Our Lady of the Castle, represented by Manolo Martín using the wash technique in A4 format. From this work, José María Cabello Sánchez has designed the poster, which incorporates the drawing as a central element and a frame with the day's schedule.
“This initiative allows participants to connect with the heritage of Lebrija from an artistic perspective,” highlighted the Culture Delegate.
The event thus brings together urban sketchers in the town to capture various corners of the municipality on paper and expand the collection of works linked to local heritage.
