The Ministry of Educational Development has allocated €300,941.97 to the institute since 2021 for infrastructure, technology, and vocational training. The centre has also been awarded for its reading promotion project.

IES Ciudad de las Cabezas, in Las Cabezas de San Juan, has received a confirmed investment of €300,941.97 from the Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training of the Regional Government of Andalusia since 2021. This was confirmed by the territorial delegate in Seville, Miguel Ángel Araúz, during a visit to the centre.

Over €105,000 in infrastructure improvements

Of the total invested, €105,304 has been allocated to completed infrastructure, maintenance, and improvement works. Other funds have allowed for repairs and conservation of the centre, with an additional €24,370.25.

Furthermore, the institute has received €26,123.19 through the Thermal Comfort Programme. This investment has resulted in the installation of 26 split-type air conditioning units, improving the environmental conditions of classrooms and other teaching spaces.

Commitment to digital transformation

In terms of digital initiatives, the Ministry has invested €115,151.36, enabling the centre to acquire 114 new technological devices. These include interactive digital screens, mobile panels, laptops, a 3D printer, virtual reality glasses, digital microscopes, and materials for a radio workshop.

The aim, according to the Regional Government, is to strengthen educational innovation and digital learning, facilitating the implementation of active methodologies and the development of students' digital competence.

Modernised vocational training

The vocational training cycles at IES Ciudad de las Cabezas have also benefited from €29,992.17 allocated for the acquisition of equipment. The idea is to modernise the training spaces so that students can develop their skills in environments similar to those in the professional field.

Delegate Miguel Ángel Araúz highlighted that "the commitment of Juanma Moreno's Government to improve educational centres translates into investments that directly impact the quality of teaching and the well-being of the entire educational community."

"These actions allow us to offer students safer, more comfortable spaces tailored to current needs, as well as to promote vocational training equipped with the necessary resources to meet labour market demands," he added.

Recognition for educational innovation

IES Ciudad de las Cabezas has been the only institute in the province of Seville distinguished in the eighth edition of the Reading Promotion Awards, thanks to its project '¡Aquí se lee!', which won third prize in the Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) category.

Under the slogan 'A daily appointment with words', this initiative turns reading into an organised, systematic, and shared practice across the entire educational community, promoting reading habits as a transversal element of learning.

Additionally, the centre stands out for its innovative educational project 'School-Museum', which integrates art and cultural heritage into the daily life of the centre as tools for learning. Thanks to this initiative, the institute transforms into an exhibition space where students guide visits through hallways and classrooms turned into a genuine art gallery.

In its facilities, reproductions of iconic works can be seen, such as 'The Kiss' by Gustav Klimt; 'Les Demoiselles d'Avignon' by Pablo Picasso; or 'The Card Players' by Paul Cézanne, alongside creations inspired by artists like Vincent van Gogh, Fernando Botero, Diego Rivera, or Salvador Dalí.

For the residents of Las Cabezas de San Juan, this investment represents a tangible improvement in the educational quality for their children. The new facilities and equipment are already available, and the centre continues to develop its innovative projects. The Regional Government assures that it will continue to promote the modernisation of the institute to provide higher quality education.
