Entrepreneurs in Tomares have a new opportunity to have their efforts recognised. The Tomares Business Circle (CIRE), in collaboration with the Town Hall, has launched the call for the sixth edition of the Business Excellence Awards 'City of Tomares'. The initiative will distribute €6,500 in cash across various categories, aiming to reward innovation, social commitment, and the track record of local businesses.
Six Categories for All Business Profiles
The awards include the Tomares Business Excellence Award for the best Local Shop, worth €1,000; for the best Small Business, with €1,500; and for the best Medium Business, with €2,500. Additionally, the Tomares Start-Up and/or Innovative Entrepreneur or Young Entrepreneur Award will grant €1,500 to emerging projects. Finally, the Tomares Business Career Honourable Recognition will distinguish entrepreneurs with over 25 years of activity, without a monetary award but with great prestige.
According to the organisation, the awards are aimed at companies with their registered office in Tomares that have developed initiatives aligned with business excellence. Special emphasis will be placed on corporate social responsibility, employee well-being, equality, and continuous improvement. The deadline for submitting applications is September 20, 2026.
Startups and Young Entrepreneurs, a Special Focus
The start-up category seeks innovative projects in sectors such as health, biotechnology, mobility, smart cities, environment, energy, telecommunications, food, industry 4.0, or emerging technologies. The aim is to highlight initiatives capable of bringing new ideas and becoming a reference for other entrepreneurs. For the residents of Tomares, this represents an opportunity to see the local entrepreneurial ecosystem grow, with potential synergies that benefit commerce and employment in the area.
The recognition for business career, on the other hand, will distinguish entrepreneurs with over 25 years of career, valuing job creation, investment, innovation, internationalisation, and stability. It is a nod to those long-standing shops that have witnessed the evolution of the municipality.
Gala and Sponsorship Opportunities
The awards gala will be held on October 15, 2026, at the Casino Admiral Sevilla, a venue that promises to gather a significant part of the local economic fabric. Interested companies can not only apply as candidates but also as sponsors, collaborators, or supporters. Sponsors will have prominent visibility during the event and in the promotional campaign, as well as invitations to the gala and the subsequent cocktail. Collaborators will have spaces to promote their products and services, and sponsors can participate with a smaller contribution.
"We want these awards to be a showcase of Tomares' entrepreneurial talent and a tool to boost the local economy," say representatives from the Business Circle.
Applications can be submitted via email until September 20, and the guidelines are available on the CIRE website.
